WebDAV is short for "Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning." It is an open set of extensions to the HTTP protocol that allows remote content editing and sharing of files on World Wide Web server. [1] Popular software titles that support WebDAV include Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Sharepoint Designer, Microsoft Office Sharepoint Services, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Adobe Contribute.
