Modeling of a Belted plaid, the forerunner of the modern traditional kilt. Front view: After gathering the material loosly into pleats and belting it about his waist, the remainder of the material is brought up and over the shoulder and pinned with a brooch. Rear view: the appearance of the belted plaid from the rear can be seen. The footwear he is sporting was handmade and is one of a type of medieval bag shoe which was worn with the belted plaid when the wearer did not go barefoot. |
