Revision as of 12:21, 10 September 2008
I was born in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro, and am living there now. I obtained a Bachelor of Economics at PUC-RJ, a university in Brazil. Between September 2005 and September 2006 I was a member of the PET (Programa de Ensino Tutorial – Tutorial Educational Program), a group of students doing research under the supervision of teachers and financed by the Brazilian government. In 2007 I worked for an enterprise engaged in valuation and management consulting, but didn’t like it. Now I am studying to some exams to get into a master’s degree program in the field of International Relations.
The other main fields in which I am interested in contributing here are History and Education. I like music, cinema, travel: well, a lot of things, but probably I am going to be a reader instead of a writer on these themes.
I was a sysop at the Portuguese Wikipedia but became exhausted with all its internal conflicts and unmanageable problems, so I gave up. I think that Wikipedia will face big snags in the long run if it doesn’t change some of its policies and principles… and probably it won’t change.
I don’t have too much time to work here but I would be happy to help this small but growing project. I believe that Citizendium has a much healthier environment than Wikipedia and a great potential to grow, and it could even reach the forefront of free online encyclopaedias... but in overall quality, not quantity. (Why? ... See the last external link below, please!)
