(manually add Category:Getting Started, as the automatic category inclusion had to be removed due to the template being used on lots of user pages)

Citizendium Getting Started
Quick Start | About us | Help system | Start a new article | For Wikipedians

Some hints, policies, and processes are more important than others. If we had to pick a dozen of the most important, what would they be?

  1. Be bold!
  2. Behave professionally.
  3. Lower-case article titles.
  4. Place [[Category:CZ Live]] on new articles, but not articles that that you've copied from Wikipedia and have not yet worked on. See the definition.
  5. Place {{subpages}} at the tops of new articles, and fill out the corresponding template. Also put the appropriate category of an article; for example, [[Category:Philosophy Workgroup]]. Here is the list of workgroups.
  6. Check the "Content is from Wikipedia?" box, just above "Save page", if you are copying something from Wikipedia.
  7. Wikipedians should know that we aren't Wikipedia. We have many different policies.
  8. Subscribe to Citizendium-L (everyone), and Citizendium-Editors (editors). These are announcement lists.
  9. Project discussion happens on the Citizendium Forums.; article discussion on the article's talk page, and on the appropriate mailing list.
  10. Know some key policy and organization pages: The Statement of Fundamental Policies | Project Home | Workgroups | Policy Outline | How to get started as an author | How to edit an article | How to convert Wikipedia articles to Citizendium articles | Mailing List Outreach | Article Mechanics | Neutrality Policy
  11. Monitor some important changing pages: recent changes | CZ:Home | your own "user talk" page (see "my talk" at the top of the page) | recent changes in your field (see your workgroup's page)
