Description
English: North Vietnam - USA. Ho Chi Minh (L3 standing) North Vietnam, and Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap (L5 standing) North Vietnam give a farewell party for the US Army intelligence team (OSS) in 1945. They are OSS Maj. Allison Thomas (L4 standing), Rene J. Defourneaux (L2 standing) USA, Allan Squires (L2 sitting) USA, and Paul Hoagland (R1), the medic who saved Ho.

Additional note: Lawrence Vogt (L1 sitting), Henry Prunier (L6 standing). Ref: Vo et al. 2020, "The American Presence In Uncle Ho's Treatment in 1945," Pharmacophore, Vol.11, No.4, pp.56-59 (pdf), where Paul Hoagland was referred to as a "doctor", but Hoagland was a combat medic as mentioned in the figure caption in The Early US Role in Indochina, 1945-1946; the other Vietnamese in the photo were also identified in this paper.
